Package Description

Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m.) which is also known as the killer mountain is the eighth highest mountain of the world which is situated in the Gorkha district, Nepal which was opened for trekking purpose in 1991 AD. So, Manasalu Trekking is most challenging and untouched trekking trail in western part of Nepal. It is lying at the edge of one of the most secluded Himalayan valleys in the central-western Nepal Himalaya’s Kali Gandaki valley- 40 miles east of Annapurna.

In 1950 a group headed by H.W. Tilman trekked this area for the first time and ever since this area has been quite popular among tuff trekkers. You can joy the ancient culture such as upper Dolpa and Mustang during trekking expedition as well as historical place Gorkha. Though Japanese are trying to climb Mt. Manaslu since 1952 but their attempt was only success in May 9, 1956 by Toshio Imanishi and Gyalzen Norbu, members of a Japanese expedition.  So, it is said that the Japanese take pride in their adventures in Manaslu the same way the British do over Everest.

Manaslu  is highest village in the Budhi Gandaki valley. It is now also famous for great tea house trek. The Manaslu region has a rich ecotone diversity and includes nineteen different types of forests, mostly you can observe Rhododendron, and Himalayan blue pine. The best months are March, April, May and the last week in September to mid-December. The busiest season is October. Limits are the monsoon (June to September) and winter snow and lodge closures (Larkya Phedi, Bimtang) from some time in December to late February, early March.
